The finely turned smooth outer surface eliminates protrusions and burrs, drastically lowering abrasion to filter cloth. Meanwhile, the patterned layout of elliptical grooves maintains outstanding structural rigidity and prevents barrel deformation under long-term vacuum negative pressure.
In addition, these slender elliptical openings deliver a higher open area, optimizing liquid flow and minimizing material clogging.

The entire outer cylinder undergoes precision lathe finishing with tightly controlled concentricity and roundness tolerances. Zero radial runout occurs during operation. The drum surface is perfectly smooth without protrusions, eliminating localized friction, reducing filter cloth abrasion and greatly extending service life.
Fabricated from rolled and welded 304 / 316L stainless steel, with all welds ground flat. The elliptical hole layout optimizes the force-bearing structure of the cylinder, delivering higher rigidity than drums with dense round holes. It can withstand long-term vacuum negative pressure without deformation or cracking.
We can replicate parts according to engineering drawings or measured old samples. Non-standard sizes and hole patterns are available to fit rotary vacuum drum filters of all brands.
Higher Processing Capacity
With the same quantity of holes, elongated elliptical holes feature a far higher open area ratio than round holes. This delivers greater filtrate throughput and effectively boosts the overall processing capacity for sludge and thick slurries.
The long and narrow channels resist blockage by solid substances. Backwashing and residue discharge run smoothly, which drastically cuts downtime for cleaning and reduces labor and shutdown costs.
The hole pattern ensures even force distribution and improves the drum’s fatigue resistance. Under long-term negative pressure conditions, the cylinder is far less prone to deformation and weld cracking compared to drums densely perforated with small round holes.
Hole openings are precision deburred with smooth edges. This completely prevents tearing of filter cloth and greatly extends filter cloth service life, lowering replacement frequency significantly.
